R. Doraiswamy Takes Over As LIC CEO And MD

The government has appointed R. Doraiswamy as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Life Insurance Corp. of India (LIC) for a period of three years, effective Monday (July 15), the insurer said in an exchange filing.

Doraiswamy, who has over 39 years of experience with LIC, was serving as Managing Director since September 2023. His appointment follows the superannuation of Siddharth Mohanty on June 7.

Sat Pal Bhanoo, who had held additional charge as CEO and MD since June 8, will now cease to hold the additional powers, the filing added.

Doraiswamy’s elevation was recommended by the Financial Services Institutions Bureau on June 11.
