PG Electroplast Ltd said its LPG suppliers have reported a gas shortage due to maritime navigation restrictions linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, tightening availability under the company’s gas sale and purchase agreement.
In a regulatory filing on Monday, the company said the restrictions affecting certain vessels have disrupted the regional gas supply scenario, severely constraining availability.
As a result, suppliers have limited LPG allocation to PG Electroplast under the contract with effect from today.
The company said it is assessing the situation to determine whether supply curtailments may be required for its downstream customers. At the same time, it is exploring alternative sources of supply to ensure uninterrupted production.
At this stage, PG Electroplast said the potential financial or operational impact of the shortage cannot be quantified.
The company added that it is closely monitoring developments and will inform the stock exchanges if there are any material updates.
