Hindustan Zinc To Set Up ₹38.2 Billion Tailings Reprocessing Plant

Hindustan Zinc Ltd. on Monday said its board has cleared plans to set up a 10-million-tonne-per-annum tailings reprocessing plant at a cost of ₹38.23 billion.

The facility will recover metals from tailing dumps and forms part of the company’s strategy to double overall capacity, according to a stock exchange filing. Hindustan Zinc said the project will also help cut the environmental impact linked to conventional wet tailings disposal.
