Hero MotoCorp Names Harshavardhan Chitale as CEO from January 5

Hero MotoCorp Ltd. has appointed Harshavardhan Chitale as chief executive officer, effective January 5, the company said in a filing Monday. He will replace acting CEO Vikram Kasbekar, who took charge after Niranjan Gupta resigned to join Hindustan Unilever Ltd.

Chitale was most recently global CEO of Signify’s professional business. He has also held leadership roles as vice-chairman and managing director of Philips Lighting India, and senior positions at HCL Infosystems and Honeywell Automation. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
