The Financial Services Institutions Bureau has recommended Asheesh Pandey as managing director and CEO of Union Bank of India, and Kalyan Kumar for the same role at Central Bank of India.
Union Bank’s current CEO A. Manimekhalai retires in June, while Central Bank’s M.V. Rao steps down on 31 July. FSIB said it selected the candidates after interviewing 23 individuals from public sector banks between 27–30 May, considering experience and other criteria.
FSIB is an autonomous government body responsible for recommending leadership appointments in state-run financial institutions.
