Hindustan Copper, in an exchange filing on Thursday, said ore production at the Kolihan copper mine, part of its Khetri Copper Complex in Khetrinagar, Rajasthan, resumed today.
The update follows the company's earlier letter dated May 15, 2024, which had announced a temporary halt in operations.
The company had to temporarily close down operations at the Kolihan copper mine, after an unfortunate accident claimed the life of one of its Chief Vigilance Officer Upendra Pandey. The incident occurred due to a malfunction in the lift which was carrying a vigilance team from Kolkata along with mine officials.
Established in 1967, the company operates at five major sites across India: the Malanjkhand Copper Project in Madhya Pradesh, Khetri Copper Complex in Rajasthan, Indian Copper Complex in Jharkhand, Taloja Copper Project in Maharashtra, and the Gujarat Copper Project in Gujarat.
Following the news of the resumption of its Kolihan copper mine operations, shares of the company rose over 3%, hitting an intraday high of ₹203, according to a report by Business Standard.
On Friday, shares of Hindustan Copper ended at ₹199, up 2% from Wednesday’s close.
