Coal India Ltd. on Monday said it has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. to develop a 500-megawatt solar power project in the state.
The initiative is part of Coal India's broader push into green and renewable energy. The agreement also allows for future collaboration on additional opportunities, the company said in an exchange filing.
