Coal India Ltd. on Friday said its provisional coal production rose 0.5% on year in April to 62.1 million tonnes. However, offtake fell 1.2% to 63.4 million tonnes, the company said in an exchange filing.
Among its eight subsidiaries, Northern Coalfields Ltd. posted the highest production growth at 3.4%, producing 12.2 million tonnes. Meanwhile, Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. saw a 1.2% drop in offtake to 63.4 million tonnes.
