Without a robust, competitive and growing manufacturing sector, India will never be able to create enough jobs for its youth and harness its demographic dividend. Successive governments and budgets have come up with many plans to revive and promote investment in manufacturing, but the share of the manufacturing sector in the country's GDP remains abysmally low, hovering around the 15% mark for years.
