Bharat Forge Arm To Set Up Defence Energetics Hub in Andhra Pradesh

Bharat Forge Ltd. on Thursday said its step-down subsidiary, Agneyastra Energetics Ltd., has signed an agreement with Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corp. Ltd. to acquire a 949.65-acre land parcel at Madakasira in Anantapur district.

The land will be utilised to develop an end-to-end defence energetics manufacturing complex, including a high explosives manufacturing plant, ammunition filling unit, gun propellant facility, and provisions for expansion into energetics for rockets, missile systems, and space launch vehicles, the company said in an exchange filing.

The acquisition aligns with Bharat Forge’s growth strategy and will strengthen its presence in the defence sector, it added.
